Sparky - Pet & Equine Granules

Sparky, by kind permission of Gemma Stanley ©2023

Just add half a teaspoon to your dogs food, or a quarter of  teaspoon to your cats food to ensure that your pet gets all of the vital minerals and vitamins it needs to stay in optimum health from a natural food source. For horses see Daily Feed Inclusion Table, below.

Seagreens® Pet & Equine Seaweed are 100% dried grains of certified human food quality Ascophyllum nodosum sustainably harvested seaweed, in line with EU and USA Organic Standards. Nothing is added or extracted from the pure air-dried seaweed.

Pet & Equine Seaweed strengthens and protects cats, dogs and horses. Nutrient imbalance, micronutrient and mineral deficiencies and metabolic disorders are often rooted in inadequate natural forage, feed processing and ‘fashion’ trends in equine and pet feed formulation.

Like Seagreens® for humans, these easily digested pure seaweed granules are great balancers of your pets nutritional profile - regulating metabolism, strengthening immunity and vitality, supporting the mineral balance in performance.

Seagreens® is recommended by grateful horses, dogs and cats up and down the country and dairy calves at one of Britain's largest biodynamic farms!

Oral Health and Hygeine, Allergies and Intolerances

"It is estimated that up to 85% of dogs and cats in Britain over two years of age suffer from some degree of dental disease" - the leading British animal charity PDSA (People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals).

Regular ingestion of seaweed and even applying it with a toothbrush may be a good natural route to oral health.

How will you know if your animal has any allergies or intolerances?

Seagreens seaweed is certified allergen free, human food quality and the product contains no other ingredients.

Improved coat and better temperament

Owners often notice the appearance of the coat and better temperament; internally the granules enhance the value of other feed nutrients and improve their absorption.

A balanced dietary foundation can be restored and maintained by continuous daily inclusion in the animal’s food - 200g lasts a large dog 2 months, a large working horse 20 days.

The jar has a dietary inclusion table for all kinds of pets.

“Seaweed has a composition very different to that of land vegetation...more than 60 microminerals and trace elements varying from 15-25% of the dry weight compared with 5-6% in hay and 4% or less in various grains.

The fat and protein is about the same as for vegetation generally, but the vitamin content is exceptionally favourable, with (eg.) provitamin A (carotene), vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin E, folic and folinic acid, and vitamin B12 which does not occur in land vegetation.

Seaweed is rich in carbohydrates, but these differ greatly from those found in land plants, with alginic acid, laminarin, and mannitol among the most significant”
Senn & Kingman

What's in it

Dried large granules of Seagreens® native wild Wrack seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum, of human food quality, whose composition and health benefits Seagreens has studied and documented for over two decades. For human consumption use the smaller granules in Seagreens® Culinary Ingredient. Nothing added or extracted. Non-allergenic. Safe in permanent daily use.

Provenance

British Isles and Nordic region. The best seaweed species are found in different locations. Seagreens has developed 5 food certified remote harvesting locations and production facilities in England, Iceland, Ireland, Norway and Scotland.

What it does

Important nutrients are missing in depleted soils, limited forage, feed processing and storage, and trends in pet and equine feed formulation. Seagreens® Ascophyllum nodosum contains all these nutrients.

Its unusual breadth and density of nutrients - all of the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, polyphenols, amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, soluble fibre, enzymes and antioxidants - provide the micronutrients for domestic and grazing animals and sufficiency in soils and land-grown foods. In the soil this means support for microorganisms. In the plant it supports growth and vitality.

In the animal, improved performance, immunity & temperament. It variously cleanses the blood and liver; repairs the hoof; maintains the bloom and overall condition; strengthens resistance and recovery and enhances the absorption and value of other feed nutrients.

How to use

Daily inclusion levels are given on the jar for each type and size of animal. The granules should be mixed in feed or given by hand and can also be infused in drinking water. For livestock inclusion levels please request information about our agricultural Mineralizing Meal which has additional uses in composting, seed soaking, soil and watering.

Customer Reviews of Seagreens® Pet & Equine Seaweed

Overall condition has improved massively

Ordered this mainly for one of my dogs who has auto immune problems, one of which was itchy skin and his fur was horrendous, I can't really say how this has affected him, his overall condition has improved massively but he is on many other supplements as well, however I also gave it to my other 3 dogs and it has most definitely made a huge difference to the condition of their coat/skin, I ran out of my supply and whilst I wasn't giving them it, their coats got worse, therefore I plan on using this continously for all of them!

Phenomenonal difference to fur

Our dog had terrible problems with thining, and at times, baldness to her fur. Vet couldn't ascertain the cause but in all other aspects she was healthy. Started her on Seagreens approx 2 years ago and the difference has been phenomenonal. People who knew her pre Seagreens are totally amazed. Can't recommend highly enough.

Pet Granules

I have been using these granules for years on my long haired malamute, the difference in his energy, coat and immune system is wonderful.

I have adopted two other northern breeds a malamute & husky, both in poor condition when I fostered them.

Using this product on my rescues have again proved value for money, helping us to bring them to the peak of vitailty and health.

Thank you xxx

Healthy Raw Fed Dogs

I use Seagreens Pet Granules because I feed raw, and was worried about possible nutritional imbalances due to my ignorance, despite doing my research as thoroughly as possible.

I use the Seagreens because it is a natural product which I am happy to use to make sure my dogs get the best nutrition they possibly can. I have two German Shepherds which are prone to many many problems, and if you ask a vet the dog most likely to visit a vet they will tell you GSDs! Well not my two.

My older dog had a very bad skin problem about four years ago which cost my poor insurance company a lot of money, and all that money didn't get to the problem. All that came back was "dust mite allergy".

He had several courses of antibiotics which would supress the problem until about three weeks after the end of the course, and then back it would come again.

In the end I said no more antibiotics. I put him on Seagreens sometime after this, and gradually it has 99.9% gone. He has one patch near his groin that will occassionaly appear, but I can deal with that easily with my own concoction.

My other dog is happy and healthy even though she was diagnosed with a mite allergy too when she was a pup. My dogs haven't been to the vet for at least two years now.

They have strong white teeth, beautiful soft luxurious coats, and placid calm temperaments. All in all they are pretty near perfect.

I am very happy with Seagreens.

Re-living his puppy years

I want to thank you for recommending the Pet Granules for my 10 year old Labrador.

He is a changed dog! His legs and shoulders are less stiff and his limping stopped completely which is such a relief.

His energy levels have dramatically increased and it is like he is re-living his puppy years (which I’m not sure is a good thing!)

Phenomenal!

Hello everyone,

I must tell you what has happened since December 2009 when I started giving my little Norwich Terrier Freddie the Pet Granules.

Firstly I should give you the background history. I bought him as a 7 month puppy from a reputable breeder, but unfortunately at a year old he showed symptons of demodectic mange. January 2009 I took him to the University of Cambridge Queen's Veterinary Hospital where they confirmed his condition and told me that puppies get this from suckling from their mother who carries the condition.

It is all to do with the puppies immune system that perhaps is not strong, and so after putting him through 3 lots of complete shaves to enable the vets to treat his skin (2009 was the coldest winter!) it was not until September 2009 that the vets eventually considered the mites were dead.

At that time I was not aware of the Pet Granules, although I am a long term advocate of Sea Greens for myself. I had tried everything for his immune system, even importing powders from the USA.

It was December 2009 when I was ready to order some capsules for myself that I noticed a leaflet in my file with the article on Pet Granules, and knew that I should try them for Freddie.

The results in the last 3 months have been Phenomenal!! He is bright eyed, lively, and eating well, especially celery, which he seems to crave ( something to do with the fact he had had toxic washes for so long, and apparently celery contains an anti-toxic agent) I am convinced his immune system has improved since taking the Granules, and congratulate you for producing them. I have recommended them to my local vet.

Retriever hot spot syndrome cured

I have a Golden Retriever, Tubby, who has always suffered from “hot spots” - large raging sores that start as an itch and can erupt anywhere on the body. No medication seems to help, they just have to run their course.

Because they itch so much and the dog naturally scratches, secondary infection is common. The sores take about a month to heal. I have not found a vet yet who knows what causes them. They can only treat the resulting infections.

Our plumber told us about Seagreens and for three years we have been giving Tubby 1 teaspoon per day. In year 1 the hot spot eruptions diminished but still appeared occasionally. In year 2 they vanished. Now well into year 3 and no new ones. Vets don’t seem to know about this.

One last story. We go often to where Tubby has always eaten the seaweed every time we go to the beach. I have always heard that animals have a way of knowing instinctively what is good for them.

It makes you think there really is something to all this.

Silky, thick coat and tremendous energy

My 13 year old cairn terrier, Jasper, is taking your SeaGreens, and has been doing so all this year.

He has a history of skin problems, digestive troubles and sensitivity to loud noise - in short, a real bundle of problems.

This year has been radically different. Usually by this time of year he is almost bald from tail to shoulders, from scratching and licking, but everyone has remarked on his silky, thick coat, and no bald patches. For an older dog his energy is tremendous, and his tummy is not bloated any more.

The only change to what I have tried in previous years is to start Jasper on your SeaGreens, so that is what I am crediting with his improved health this year. Many thanks, I could not recommend the product more highly.

Cats and kittens love it

All the cats and kittens are now having Pet Granules in their food - they are eating it up without any problems. They usually turn their noses up in suspicion when you add any sort of medication at all so this is good. My young imported girl who had health problems as a kitten who has now just been mated and will be on it throughout her pregnancy.

Good Digestion

Our dog has also benefited from the Seagreens® Pet Granules in recovering from a sprained back leg. He has more energy and better weight. We have noticed that his digestion is not so good when we stop giving him the Pet Granules.
